São Luís has a number of recommended restaurants, including Restaurant “Destilaria do Ferrador”, located in an old forge, right in the center of São Luis. “Veranda de Aldeia” is also a highly recommended restaurant. If you want it more simple, but still tasty :), Restaurant “Arosa or O Pinguin” is also a good choice. Come and enjoy the real Alentejan dishes! Restaurant Arosa is just in across the street!

In Vila Nova the Milfontes, Zambujeira do Mar, Porto Covo or Odemira are plenty of restaurants that are definitely worth a visit. 

Odemira and its surroundings mainly rely on its nature culture. A coast with beautiful high cliffs, beaches and small authentic villages, where life is still fairly stress-free. There is also a library in Odemira with plenty of activities, such as storytelling, activities for children and free WiFi.

However, you may also discover the best shopping in The Algarve, including Porches Pottery, Loja Canastra, ... Chocolates made in Odemira in the neighbouring Alentejo region, are good choices. If you're looking for a good day trip, then might be a good choice. Visit Lisbon for a Day or staying overnight in the beautiful capital of Portugal.

Enjoy surfing on the Atlantic Ocean. The Alentejo coast is known for the fantastic waves for surfing. Also canoeing or supping are great possibilities.  
The River Mira is perfect for it! In Vila Nova de Milfontes are various places where you can rent equipment or take lessons. For several days or half a day for beginners and advanced.

Or go on a boat trip on the river, go fishing or just sail and enjoy the beautiful banks that the Mira has to offer.

In the vicinity there are various hiking and mountain biking trails. The Rota Vicentina has all kinds of beautiful routes for both mountain bikers and hikers.

Rota Vicentina is a long distance route of more than 300 km, between Santiago do Cacém and Sagres, along the historical route that once connected main towns and villages and an alternative route by the sea.
